Week Ahead

After a truly wild Wild Card NFL weekend we are onto the divisional round of play. Games will be played on Saturday and Sunday this upcoming weekend. Saturday will feature the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs at 3:30 CT on NBC followed by the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles at 7:15 CT on Fox. Sundays games kickoff at 2 CT on CBS with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills then the 5:30 CT kickoff will be between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers.

Looking at our first game on Saturday Jacksonville will be looking for another shocking upset vs Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are sitting as an 8.5 points favorite with the total points at 53, this is projecting a 31-22 final score. The second game on Saturday is between two division rivals facing off in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. The Giants coming off a big win against the Minnesota Vikings for their first playoff win in 11 years. The Eagles will be coming off their opening round bye and are favored by 7.5 points. The Eagles did best the Giants in both meetings this year once with a healthy Jalen Hurts and again in a meaningless week 18 game for the Giants. This looks to be a good game that may ultimately come down to whether Hurts is truly back to 100% health.

Moving to Sunday with the day opening with the much-anticipated matchup between the Bengals and Bills in Orchard Park, NY (Buffalo's home stadium). Both games on Sunday bring spreads under a touchdown vs the Saturday games over 7. The Bills are favored in this game by 5.5 after coming off a tight win over the Dolphins by just 3. The Bengals were in a tight one themselves vs the Ravens and without a 98 yard fumble return late in the 4th we could be seeing a different matchup.

The last game of weekend has the smallest spread setting the 49ers as a 4 point favorite. These two teams look to be most in control during the Wild Card round, not to say Dallas' FG troubles didn't make for a bit unique. The total for this games sits at 46 the lowest of the weekend even after San Francisco put up 41 on their own last weekend. While there is plenty on NFL action to be excited about this weekend we have some good NHL matchup to check out as well. Thursday there is a full 13 game slate which includes the league leading Boston Bruins heading to take on the New York Rangers. Another good one to watch will be the Tampa Bay Lightning taking on the Edmonton Oilers, watch the top 2 point leaders in McDavid and Draisaitl in this action. Also Saturday will be another big 14 games slate with some late night Capitals vs Golden Knight action to sit back and enjoy following the NFL, which you can catch at 9 on ESPN+.
