What a Weekend!

Wow, what a weekend we had across all sports. The NCAA College Football Playoff was turned on its head. NFL had some good action with a few surprise wins, the AFC tightened up and more of the same with the mediocre middle in the NFC. Also, the Astros closed out the MLB season with a World Series win. With that said as usual we will take a look at some of the matchups we are excited about this week.

Looking at college football this week we will have a trio of MACtion action on Tuesday and Wednesday nights which is always a great way to get the week going. Alabama and Ole Miss will meet Saturday at 2:30 on CBS and battle it out trying to grab the top spot in the SEC west. Although with the LSU victory over Alabama last weekend that opportunity may be gone for both. # 16 Tulane (8-1) will take on #22 UCF (7-2) in a clash of the top 2 teams in the American conference, the home Tulane sits currently as a 2-point favorite. Washington will travel to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks at 6 pm on Fox. The Ducks have been absolutely rolling of late, but this is a Washington team who has been playing better in recent games. Down in Texas we will have a clash of the horns featuring the Horned Frogs of TCU and Longhorns of Texas. The undefeated TCU squad is sitting as a 7-point dog, I know Texas has been playing well but that might be worth a couple coins and maybe even a money line sprinkle. I’ll have to wait and see what Wahl has to say on the Thursday release of the College Football Rundown.

Turning to the NFL they will be kicking off the week in a new location Munich, Germany where the Tampa Bay Bucs will take on the Seattle Seahawks at 8:30 am CT. (and yes, I intentionally ignored Thursday Night Football) Lots of interesting results last weekend as I mentioned in the opening, in the NFC Vikings grabbed a big W vs the Commanders and Seattle is still moving in the right direction with a good win over the up and down Cardinals. Things really tightened up in the AFC as no team has over 6 wins after the Jets surprised the Bills with an upset win. The Bills will look to rebound when hosting the Vikings at 12 CT on Fox. The Bills are a 7.5-point favorite over the Vikings who only have one loss on the season vs the undefeated Eagles, this looks to be good game to be a bit of a measuring stick between the AFC and NFC.

The NHL has a big slate of games for us on Tuesday night. A couple of the games that look to have some high scores are the Coyotes v Sabres, Wild vs Kings and Canucks vs Senators. Of these 3 I like the Canucks vs Senators best for an over 6.5 as both are scoring and giving up an average of 3.5 GPG or more a game. We talked about goals per game stats last week on our mini pod released last Friday. As far as the low side of totals to look at are the Islanders vs Rangers, Predators vs Kraken and Stars vs Jets. I’ll be looking at the Islanders vs Rangers to hit on the under 6.5, Rangers are struggling to score, and the Islanders are holding opponents to an average of 2.5 GPG. Make sure you are checking the NHL Gameboard on Sports Betting Intel to find the best book to make your bet. NHL has juice that varies so much so make sure to shop around.
