Tuesday Night MACtion is Back

What better way to start the week then with the return of MACtion to Tuesday nights. Thursday Night Football continues to bring us poor matchups, yet this week features the undefeated Eagles vs. the one-win Texans. Fortunately for us, the NHL has a few solid games Thursday to keep an eye on. Friday night, the Pac-12 hooks us up with a good game between the Beavers of Oregon State and the Washington Huskies. All of this before we get to our regularly scheduled Saturday and Sunday football action. Oh, and let’s not forget the MLB World Series will be playing out all week.

Tuesday we will have a great matchup between the top two teams in the MAC East: Buffalo )4-0 in conference) vs. Ohio (3-1 in conference). Buffalo is sitting as a three-point favorite, but a little variance across the books, so make sure to shop for the best line before placing your bet. I am going to be watching SBI Twitter to see what our MAC expert has to say about this one.

Thursday, as mentioned, continues its trend of unappealing NFL matchups. Luckily, this week we can look to the NHL for a couple good games. First being the Carolina Hurricanes vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning at 6:00 pm CT on ESPN+. These are two of the top teams year after year, and this looks to a be stellar matchup. Both teams are scoring and giving up right round three goals per game; I would expect the total to come out at 6. As their last 10 regular season games have only gone over six twice, I would keep an eye on the under when the lines drop. Another interesting matchup will be between the 8-1 Boston Bruins and the 5-3 New York Rangers on Hulu at 6:30 pm CT. Boston has the highest scoring offense at 4.2 goals per game, while also giving up the second fewest goals per game at 2.3. It will be interesting to see what the total starts out at, 6 or 6.5. I would lean to the under of 6.5 if you can get a good price.

Saturday, two of biggest games are in the SEC - #1 Georgia vs #2 Tennessee and #6 Alabama vs #15 LSU. I am excited to hear what the College Football Rundown has to say about these marquise matchups, especially the “Dynamic Daniels”, quarterback of LSU. One other game I’ll be keeping an eye on this weekend is Clemson vs Notre Dame at 6:30 pm CT on NBC. Can Notre Dame do it again after last week, in what I thought was a surprising upset of Syracuse? I am going to be watching the ACC to see what Clemson and North Carolina do down the stretch; these teams and their records could play a big role in College Football Playoff rankings.

As far as the Sunday slate goes, the NFL continues to be a story of teams in the middle. Who will be the next team to make a break for the top of their division? In the AFC, can the Jets shock the Bills, will the Dolphins keep the momentum going against the Bears or will Tannehill be back to help the Titans hopefully upset the Chiefs? In the NFC, we must wonder if the Seahawks can keep rolling and top the Cardinals. Also, can the Vikings stifle the surging Commanders or the will the Cowboys and Giants remain in solid positioning after their bye weeks?

Lots to enjoy this week in the sports world and bets to watch on as the week goes on. Remember, you don't have to bet, but when you do, bet with Intel.
