The Conference of Champions
Welcome sports fans! We have another good week of sports action coming your way. The MLB World Series starts on Friday 10.28.22 featuring the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies with Astros favored to win it all, odds currently sitting at -185. College football will be bringing us a few solid matchups this week as well.
One of the top NCAA football matchups this week is between Ohio State and Penn State at 11 CT on Fox Big Noon Kickoff. Another top matchup this Saturday is at 2:30 CT on Fox as well between Oklahoma St and Kansas St. The #9 ranked Ok St is a currently a dog getting 1.5, this line has moved a bit back and forth so make sure to shop books to get the best line whichever side you’re taking. I personally lean Ok St ML, best line is +105 on Caesars as I write this.
I do want to shift the focus this week to The Conference of Champions, the Pac-12. I know you’re thinking why on earth would we look at the Pac-12 this week? There is only one matchup with a spread less than double digits. I think this season more than most there is such a separation from the top to bottom in the conference. It seems most years there are 2 maybe 3 teams at the top but this year a good argument can be made for four UCLA, USC, Utah and Oregon. While there are more teams at the top there also seems to be a deeper floor. Stanford, ASU, Arizona, Colorado and Cal are all having a pretty rough go of it. With that said I like UCLA over Stanford who has been poor on both sides of the ball and in no way can keep up with UCLA’s O which has been rolling, Oregon aside (still 30 points). Insert transition, Oregon is looking real real good of late especially during last week’s big win over UCLA, lets go Bo! And Cal, Oregon’s opponent has struggled and cannot keep up with Oregon’s offense. The last I want to mention is USC vs Arizona, yes Arizona can score but USC can put up some big numbers. So, if USC can play a little D which they have shown signs of this season covering should not be an issue. Long story short I like all the favorites in these matchups UCLA -16.5 over Stanford, Oregon -16.5 over Cal and USC -15.5 over Arizona.
