Happy October!
What a great month for sports! MLB playoffs are just around the corner, NHL is starting up this weekend and we are in full swing of NFL and NCAA Football.
Let's jump right into some of the top games in college football this week. Where else is there to start other than the Red River Rivalry being played at 11 am CT on ABC. While both teams currently are 3-2 they will certainly be looking to get their seasons back on track and no better place than the Texas State Fair.
Another game we are excited to see this week is the Pac 12 battle between Utah and UCLA at 2:30 CT on Fox. Both undefeated in conference play and Utah only having 1 loss between them on the season which occurred against Florida in their season opener. The line opened at Utah -3 which aces_high posted Sunday evening on the SBI discord. Currently the line appears to be settling in at Utah -4.5 but this is one you definitely want to shop around as books definitely are not in total agreement on this one. This will be a good matchup between UCLA’s 11 ranked scoring offense vs the stout Utah D. As much as I like Utah I am not counting out UCLA as a dog AGAIN who won outright last week vs Washington. I will have to keep an ear out to see what the guys on the College Football Rundown have to say about this one.
Also be sure not to miss out on the Texas A&M vs Alabama game at 7 pm CT on CBS. Even though Alabama is a 24 point favorite I am curious to keep watching this team. While I know the score last week vs Arkansas looked like a blowout, Bryce Young's status is still in question and without a few huge runs by Gibbs that game was much closer than it looks. Also other than the 3rd quarter Arkansas did not play well on either side of the ball. I think a team that can put a whole game together can give Bama some trouble as we saw earlier this year from Texas.
NHL is back! (Well almost) Can you tell we are excited for NHL this year?!? NHL kicks off the season with a global series taking place in Prague featuring the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks. This series will be played on the 7th and 8th of October. Opening night in North America will take place on October 11th with a double header with the Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Rangers followed by the LA Kings vs Vegas Golden Knights.
