Welcome back sports fans!
Welcome back sports fans! We are looking ahead to the upcoming matchups we are keeping an eye on. We are getting the football week kicked off with the Dolphins vs Bengals on Thursday Night Football. The big question going into the week is will Tua be playing? As of Wednesday afternoon, he was limited at practice and listed as questionable. At that time the Bengals sat as a 4-point favorite.
Football keeps giving to us this week with another good matchup with the Pac 12 after dark, a battle of the undefeated 4-0 teams in Washington vs UCLA, this game starts at 9:30 CT on ESPN. The spread is sitting at Washington -2.5 and the SBI crew was split here. One thing we did agree is this will be a fun game to watch the QB battle between transfer Penix and always exciting DTR.
A couple of the games that caught our eye on the Saturday slate were Alabama vs Arkansas and NC State vs Clemson. These two games stood out for different reasons though. First the Bama game as they are 17.5 favorite over Arkansas. One things that is tough (and often not advised) bet against Saban but we might be leaning that way. This should be interesting to see who shows up the Alabama from years past, which we have not seen quite yet this year, or is K.J. Jefferson going to be able to keep this one close and cover the spread.
The second matchup of NC State vs Clemson jumped out when we noticed a total of 40.5 (Clemson scored over 41 by themselves in 3 of the first 4 games so far. After the immediate reaction of this must be some kind of mistake we realized the game is being played at Clemson which will likely have weather as a large factor as Hurricane Ian will be blowing through. This is one to follow as the game gets closer and conditions can be better evaluated. Weather is one condition as a bettor you must consider especially when making plays on totals. While Hurricane Ian is a major weather condition paying attention to temperature is another factor to keep in mind as the season moves along and seasons change across the northern half of the country.
NFL finishes the weekend off with a very interesting matchup on Sunday Night Football with the Kansas City Chiefs vs the Tamp Bay Buccaneers, a rematch from the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Both teams are also coming off tough losses from last week and will be looking to bounce back which makes this even more of a must watch game. The books seem to be favoring the Chiefs by 1 point, If you like the Bucs best line at the time is the m/l on Fanduel +106.
While football has been a big focus the past few weeks we will be turning our heads to NHL as the preseason has started and regular season is just around the corner. Keep an eye out for posts coming soon about the NHL season and steps you should be taking to be prepared for opening night.
